DEVWARE supported Turck with the SharePoint migration and the development of a central intranet communication platform to improve processes, collaboration, and knowledge transfer.
Due to strong growth and increasing bureaucracy, Turck GmbH faced the challenge of introducing a unified internal platform. The goal was to centrally collect and securely store all company information, and to present the results of meetings and discussions clearly in SharePoint lists. The result was a modern SharePoint intranet communication platform that sustainably optimizes company processes and significantly improves collaboration and information flow.

Given the varying requirements for a unified company software, Turck GmbH chose SharePoint 2007. The application platform was intended to cover a range of processes, including contract management, product management, process management, and an image database.
Through sophisticated project management and regular feedback sessions, the requirements were drawn up and confirmed by the project leads at Turck. The focus was on an iterative approach, encompassing both gradual steps in the development process and sustainable employee training. By simplifying the SharePoint development steps and introducing various customizations, lasting value was achieved for all employees.
Work began with SharePoint Foundation, using the core functions and installing the solution. Once the first customization requests had been implemented, the platform was migrated from version 2007 to version 2010. A standard license was purchased for this, and the corresponding adjustments were made.
A further migration followed, from 2010 to 2013, for which the IT infrastructure was rebuilt from the ground up. Due to growing requirements, the complexity of the MS Project Server and the WebApp Server had to be adapted.
Thanks to IT coordination measures, the customer was able to observe the end product in advance and initiate changes as needed. The focus was both on creating an information platform and on effective knowledge transfer.
After Turck GmbH & Co. KG reviewed and accepted the optimized requirement profiles, an implementation phase began, carried out by professional software developers. Weekly reporting ensured that the customer was always informed of the current project status.
During the testing phase, the functionalities of the SharePoint environments were checked to ensure flawless operation. At the same time, user documentation was created to clearly explain the requirements and their concrete implementation to the customer.
Turck employees had the opportunity to regularly test the new SharePoint website as well as the customer website across various server environments and to actively help shape its design. Various training sessions ensured the content was conveyed promptly. Once all project steps were completed, the platform could go live.
The SharePoint platform is now available to Turck GmbH and meets all specified requirements. As a central information hub, SharePoint has become indispensable in recent years. Through various training sessions, using the platform was made simple and straightforward for employees.
Thanks to the ongoing collaboration between DEVWARE GmbH and Turck GmbH, the SharePoint platform has been continuously improved and expanded.
