TL;DR

DEVWARE developed a Blazor WebApp for Bixid to fully digitize ordering processes in pharmacies and medical practices, including inventory and transaction management.

WebApp Client with ASP.NET Core Blazor

‍

The Bixid WebApp enables pharmacies and medical practices to digitize their ordering processes for practice and consultation supplies, creating a new, innovative ordering workflow.

‍

As a fast-growing company, bixid.de needed an interactive client user interface, which DEVWARE was tasked with designing and building step by step as a complete new development.

‍

Business Requirements

In addition to conventional fax ordering, a modern WebApp was to fully digitize the ordering processes. For this purpose, a web application was developed using the latest .NET technology: ASP.NET Core Blazor WebAssembly (released May 2020).

„Blazor lets you build interactive web UIs using C# instead of JavaScript. Blazor apps consist of reusable web UI components implemented using C#, HTML, and CSS.“ (Source: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/apps/aspnet/web-apps/blazor)

‍

Implementation

In phase 1 of the Bixid project, a user interface was developed that can be accessed on mobile via a password-protected area. Practice staff can link up with their partner pharmacy and place orders for consultation supply items on its behalf. Using the application, practice staff can quickly and conveniently reorder items that are running low. All items can be searched using various filter options, for example by name, PZN, or EAN, from a product catalog of more than 800,000 items. Items can also be found by scanning their item code with the device's camera. This ensures a reliable ordering process for staff.

WebApp Client for Order Processing

Similar to the mobile app, the features from phase 1 were also made available for the web.

Thanks to the successful deployment of the first phase, Bixid already has access to its first application.

Development of the next phase focused on programming the modules for goods receipt, goods issue, supplier orders, and invoicing. This “order master” features automated transaction controls and is linked to an email notification system, so each user can individually configure and view the status of their orders.

‍

Result

With the help of detailed inventory control, Bixid can rely on a dependable warehouse system that, thanks to numerous filter options, reflects any stock movement immediately.
